From Our Participants
I have attended twice ICAMES (2004 and 2005). It is a great meeting
that brings together young people from world wide. A great opportunity
to meet new cultures, to get new friends, to bring peace and fiendship
messages: Last year I have met in the Israeli's hotel room the
Egyptian student; an arab and boys from Israel were friends. Who could
imagine that?
A great opportunity to visit one of the most famous towns in the
world: Istanbul/Constantinopole.
A high level scientific competition (much higher in 2005 than in 2004
in my opinion).
All these being possible due to some enthusiastic turkish young bois
and girls, I named here ICAMES/ENSO board, who spent their time and
energy to bring us together.
A sample of responsability and maturity to assume such a task (even if
think only in terms of organizing everithing)
Many other things might be added to these; mybe I will get the
opportunity to express them in Istanbul again (two of my students have
applied for ICAMES 2006)
Good luck again, Mircea DRAGOI(ICAMES 05,Romania)

“I would like to congratulate you, the committee and the whole Engineering Students Society at Bogazici for running such a wonderful event as ICAMES. I am sure that all the students and advisors had a quite unforgettable experience, made many new friends and learnt at least a little about Turkey and the other countries which were represented. As an advisor, I was particularly appreciative of the rapport which developed so quickly between all of the students and advisors from the different countries.
My teaching is largely in Engineering Management in which I coordinate a leadership program. In a paper on leadership for the forthcoming Australasian Association for Engineering Education conference, I wrote “While Australian undergraduate engineering courses place little emphasis on leadership training, numerous international courses are more effective, either within official programs or through student societies.
One outstanding example is the ICAMES program run by the Engineering Students Society at Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey. The students, with little faculty assistance, raise sponsorship, organize and host a week long conference on student projects along with cultural events for students and their advisors from 20 different countries.”
I am on the committee for an engineering education conference which will be held in England in July 2006, and would suggest it may be a good venue to give a paper on ICAMES. I realise that you will have moved on, but if any of the new committee want to find out more, I will be happy to advise them.
Congratulations again on leading such a dynamic society,
Many thanks for such a wonderful week,”
Paul Wellington, Advisor, Monash University, Australia(ICAMES 05)

“I would like to thank you for the privilege of being invited to attend the above meeting, and to express my admiration for the extraordinary organization and hospitality that my team encountered.
The projects represented contributed a great deal knowledge to my team and provided us with new scientific tools in this field of engineering, opening our minds to new exciting and innovative ideas. Above all, it was a great pleasure to meet with other international scientists and enjoy many fruitful discussions. This meeting contributed greatly to our collaboration with scientists from all over the world.
Once again I would like to express my appreciation for this privilege and look forward to attending future meetings of the ICAMES.
Yours sincerely,”

Coming to ICAMES was one of the best decisions I made in the last years. It was absolutely great. You are all invited to visit Israel. Stay intouch!
